Odipie unveils a breakthrough portable power station solution that delivers superior durability at a significantly lower cost. By innovating with a single-cell design, we overcome the limitations of traditional battery packs, such as performance degradation from cell imbalance. Our integrated technology consolidates multiple functions into one board, reducing both complexity and material expenses. The result is a highly reliable and cost-competitive 1000Wh power station, ideal for a wide range of applications.
Portable Power Stations have been on the market for several years. They integrate interfaces for various electrical devices, such as 5.1V USB ports, 12V DC outputs, and 110V/220V AC outlets, while being highly portable, making them popular among outdoor enthusiasts. Without delving into their application scenarios, this article introduces an innovative design solution that reduces costs, improves performance, and enhances durability.
Many Portable Power Stations currently available in the market predominantly use 12.8V or 25.6V lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs, meaning the packs consist of at least four cells connected in series. As we know, the more cells connected in series, the higher the requirement for cell consistency. During usage, if one cell experiences performance degradation, it can significantly impact the overall performance of the battery pack.( According to my estimation, if a single cell’s performance declines by 5%, the entire battery pack’s performance could drop by 5% × 4 = 20%.)

Existing solutions demand high cell consistency, which naturally drives up costs. If cells with lower consistency are used, the battery’s lifespan is considerably shortened, leading to a poor user experience—an outcome we aim to avoid.
Our new solution effectively addresses these drawbacks:
A single cell replaces multiple cells connected in series. For example, to create a 1000Wh Portable Power Station, our solution employs a single 3.2V 314Ah LiFePO4 battery cell paired with a 300W bidirectional inverter BMS protection board. This approach eliminates the need for cell consistency requirements, avoids voltage imbalance issues, and removes the need for the pack assembly process, thereby reducing costs. Additionally, our 300W bidirectional inverter board integrates four functionalities: battery BMS protection, solar charge controller MPPT, inverter, and main control, significantly saving material costs.

However, this solution has one notable limitation: due to the discharge current constraints of a single cell, the power output cannot be very high. Theoretically, the maximum power can reach 1000W, but this would require a circuit board capable of handling high currents, which would substantially increase costs. Considering all factors, a single-cell configuration for a 1000Wh (1004Wh) 300W Portable Power Station is an ideal solution.
