LiPF₆ Prices Double in a Month, Driving Up LiFePO4 Battery packs Costs
Lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF₆), a critical raw material for electrolytes, has long been regarded as a key indicator of the lithium-ion battery industry's vitality. After a nearly three-and-a-half-year continuous decline, LiPF₆ prices have recently experienced a strong rebound. According to Wind market data, the price of LiPF₆ surged from ¥61,000/ton on October 1, 2025, to ¥121,500/ton by November 7, hitting a recent record high. The upward momentum has persisted. A Huaxin Securities research report indicates that LiPF₆ prices rose 13.0% in a single week, with further increases expected. This wave of price increases, triggered by soaring demand in the energy storage sector, has quickly spread to other segments such as electrolytes and lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cathode materials.
